The company Iskra Zascite was founded in 1989 in order to develop and produce surge protection devices for various applications of protecting electrical and electronic appliances in industry, business facilities and people's homes. Despite a number of different technologies which have been appearing on the market in the field of surge protection devices, Iskra Zascite has remained loyal to varistor technology and thus contributed its part to the development of this particular technology. The company also provided guidelines for the development of varistors which represent the main basic components of modern surge protection devices. Despite constant changes which have been appearing in the field of surge protection devices regarding technology as well as different approaches towards protecting electrical and electronic appliances against devastating consequences of lightning and other industrial or switch boosting voltage, the company has nevertheless managed to keep its position among the leading companies in this field due mainly to its constant development and innovative approaches. The development of the company has been greatly influenced by the development in electronics since parallel to introduction of new technologies in the field of electronics also new demands regarding construction and technological characteristics of surge protection devices appeared. By keeping in touch with the novelties in electronics as well as constantly searching for more efficient ways of protection the company has managed to hold its position in the field to the present day.

R&D

We easily keep pace with the world trends. Our main interests are safety, reliability and green technology. We believe that in long-term company will grow only on the basis of its own development. Therefore, unlimited attention is paid to innovations and new solutions are constantly encouraged. Our own R&D equipment and testing laboratory is enabling us to have fast and quality R&D processes. Because of that we can offer maximal flexibility and custom made solutions.

Dynamical development team includes experienced members and young staff with many initiatives and ideas. Its main interest is development in fields of power distribution systems, telecommunication systems and information technology systems.

Quality

The company is ISO 9001:2008 certified. It is also certified to EN 13980 (94/9/EC ATEX) directives for intrinsic safety. These two international standards ensure that quality is part of each step from conceptual design to fitting. A number of our employees are technical experts to various committees developing international and local standards. Such involvement at the standards development level ensures that our products are always at the cutting edge of design and are in compliance with relevant certifications such as VDE, ÖVE, IEC, IECEx and UL.

Our company Iskra Zaščite realized years ago, that it is impossible to follow technological trends without continuous and strategically guided development, which is the assurance for further existence of the company. For this reason our company Iskra Zaščite devotes most of its attention to research and development activities, which High Voltage and Vacuum Laboratory act as a part of.

International Standards Participation

As Iskra Zascite strives to retain its strong position of leadership in the field of surge protection and to design products better suited to the next generation of electronic systems, we are aware of the importance which internationals standards, and the committees which develop these, play in its future.

It is for this reason that many of our staff serve as technical experts on the committees which help develop and maintain these standards. This involvement includes representation on the following Standards and Conformity Assessment Committees and their Working Groups:
